Physiotherapy
Reaching peak quality performance calls for extremely high physical, technical and artistic attributes.
The New Zealand School of Dance believes in safe dance practice and injury risk prevention.
All students have to undergo a screening process, orthopaedic and medical examination before acceptance and entry into the School. Further screening occurs throughout their training at the School to ensure peak quality performance is maintained.
The physiotherapy service provided at the School is open to all students for assessment, diagnosis and injury management. The School encourages early detection and intervention and the physiotherapist works closely with sports physicians, orthopaedic specialists and other allied health professionals to ensure the highest quality of care is delivered to all students and individual programmes are designed for the students to achieve these goals.
The school’s physiotherapist, Susan Simpson, is available on site three times a week. There is a fee for this service which must be paid at time of booking.
